THE ROLE We’re hiring Japan-based freelance graphic designers specializing in conceptual art to join our network of in-country experts. By joining our network, you’ll have the chance to be part of a dedicated creative team for one of our clients, one of the world’s leading streaming entertainment platforms. To select the final candidates for this team, we are recompiling a curated showcase of conceptual artwork to present directly to our client. If your portfolio is selected for the showcase, you’ll be paid for your artwork submission and could be selected to join this client-dedicated team. REQUIREMENTS Location: Japan Specialization: Conceptual artwork design Language: Japanese native speaker with a high level of English Experience: 3+ years in graphic design Agreement: Agree to Wordbank including your work in a deck shared directly with the client CORE SKILLS Strong key visual development High-level craft and execution Ability to carry concepts through to completion Deep understanding of cultural nuances and design preference PORTFOLIO What We're Looking For: Strong conceptual artwork. This may include, and it not limited to, Heavy photo manipulation and combination of different artworks into a cohesive piece CGI Integration Visual Storytelling Editorial Design Photo Compositing Local/regional case studies Romance or romantic comedy genre work (preferred but not mandatory) Your work can be in Japanese or English What You Need to Submit: A complete portfolio for a broad idea of your work. In your portfolio, flag specific portfolio pieces you believe are most relevant to this showcase. No new work required — we're looking at what you've already created COMPENSATION If your work is selected for inclusion in the client showcase, you'll receive a flat one-time fee of $600, regardless of how many pieces of yours are chosen. This is a submission-based fee, not project work. Your work will not be used in AI models and the $600 payment doesn't constitute a payment for use of your art to train AI. You're simply sharing what you've already made and giving us permission to showcase them to the client. PAYMENT To process payment, selected artists will need to complete a brief vendor setup in our system so we can issue a purchase order and you can invoice us directly for payment via Wise. We settle invoices through Wise or by bank transfer at the end of month following the month of the invoice. This will add you to our network and we can contact you for ongoing work. We'll guide you through this step-by-step if your work is selected. SELECTION PROCESS Your application will be reviewed by Wordbank team We’ll add you to our vendor system. We’ll contact you if your work has been selected for inclusion in showcase to client.
