About WCR: WCR is a manufacturer and service provider of heat exchanger solutions. The company specializes in the design, manufacturing, and service of plates and gaskets for all makes and models of plate heat exchangers (PHE). These PHEs offer our clients high reliability of heat transfer, low capital investment and installation costs, reducing maintenance, operating costs, wear, and corrosion. Job Summary: The Frame Fabricator I is responsible for performing welding and fabrication tasks to produce high-quality welded components according to specifications. This entry-level position requires basic welding skills, the ability to interpret blueprints, and a commitment to safety and quality standards. Key Responsibilities: · Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and welding symbols to determine welding requirements. · Set up welding equipment and select proper welding techniques based on materials and specifications. · Perform welding tasks using various welding processes such as MIG, TIG, or Stick welding. · Inspect welds and fabricated components to ensure they meet quality standards and specifications. · Make adjustments or repairs as needed to achieve desired weld quality and structural integrity. · Follow established procedures for welding, cutting, and grinding to maintain quality and safety. · Adhere to safety protocols and procedures, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE). · Follow company policies and regulatory requirements related to welding operations and workplace safety. · Report any safety hazards, incidents, or equipment malfunctions to the supervisor. · Record welding parameters, production data, and inspection results accurately. · Complete work orders, inspection forms, and other documentation as required. · Assist in maintaining inventory of welding materials and supplies. · Work collaboratively with other welders, fabricators, and production team members to achieve production goals. · Communicate effectively with supervisors and colleagues regarding work progress, issues, and solutions. · Participate in training programs to enhance welding skills and knowledge. · Maintain safety certifications as needed. · All other duties as assigned. Qualifications: · High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training or certification in welding is preferred. · 0-2 years of experience in welding or a related field (may vary by employer). · Basic understanding of welding processes and techniques. · Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and welding symbols. · Proficiency in using welding equipment and tools. · Attention to detail and ability to work with precision. · Strong commitment to safety and quality standards. · Ability to work effectively in a team environment and follow instructions. Physical Requirements: · Ability to stand, walk, and lift heavy objects (up to 50 pounds) regularly. · Manual dexterity and ability to handle tools and machinery controls. · Prolonged periods of standing, bending, and stooping may be required. · Ability to work in varying temperatures and conditions typical of a manufacturing environment. Work Environment: · Manufacturing/production floor environment with exposure to noise, dust, and machining fluids. · Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) including safety glasses, gloves, and hearing protection.
