Description
avoltra is hiring a Founding Product Engineer to join the early team and help shape an enterprise-grade energy procurement platform. You’ll take ownership of the full product lifecycle, working closely with customers and founders to turn market data and energy market dynamics into scalable, high-impact solutions.
What you'll do
• Take ownership of the full product lifecycle from design to deployment.
• Translate product objectives into clear requirements in close collaboration with customers.
• Design simple, iterative solutions to complex procurement and energy problems.
• Develop performant backend services for a data-intensive application.
• Build intuitive, elegant user interfaces for a complex decision-support system.
• Train time-series forecasting models for power consumption and renewables production.
• Develop linear optimisation algorithms that reduce customer energy costs.
• Help choose and shape the core tech stack, including PostgreSQL, TypeScript, React, and Python.
What avoltra is looking for
• Strong software engineering fundamentals with experience building robust, maintainable, scalable web applications in a high-intensity or startup environment.
• A product mindset and the ability to deliver full product features independently with customers.
• Hands-on experience or strong interest in time-series forecasting and/or linear optimisation (preferred).
• Comfortable working across backend and frontend domains; familiarity with PostgreSQL, TypeScript, React, and Python is a plus, and FastAPI or Supabase experience is welcome but not required.
• Early-stage startup experience preferred; generalist engineer or former CTO background is a plus, while corporate backgrounds are acceptable with demonstrated startup mindset/grit.
• Curiosity for energy markets and complex, data-intensive business applications.
• Willingness to work on-site in Munich the majority of the week (flexibility for occasional remote work).
