Description
A well-established organisation supporting the energy and industrial sectors is seeking a Yard Operator to join its Aberdeen Operations Team on an initial 3 month contract.This is a hands-on role responsible for the safe handling, movement, tracking and storage of equipment and materials. The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining accurate inventory records, supporting logistics activities and ensuring high standards of safety, quality and operational efficiency.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
• Load and unload vehicles, inspection lines and equipment using appropriate lifting equipment.
• Receive, inspect and accurately record incoming materials and assets.
• Maintain accurate records for outgoing materials, including serial numbers and work order information.
• Select, prepare and bundle materials in accordance with operational requirements and written instructions.
• Carry out inventory checks and asset counts, reporting discrepancies as required.
• Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
• Maintain high standards of housekeeping, ensuring yard and storage areas remain clean, organised and safe.
• Participate in the on-call rota to support operational requirements.
• Comply with all Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality procedures and policies.
• Support continuous improvement activities and undertake additional duties as reasonably required to meet business needs.
Applicants to this role require:
• Valid Forklift Certificate with capability to operate forklifts up to 16 tonnes.
• Previous experience within a yard, warehouse, logistics, materials handling or industrial environment.
• Experience working within the energy, engineering, manufacturing or industrial sectors.
• Familiarity with inventory management and asset tracking systems.
• Experience operating a range of material handling equipment.
