Description Job Type: Full-time Schedule: Monday–Friday (no nights or weekends), day shift only Business Hours: Monday-Thursday 7 am- 5 pm, Friday 7 am- 3 pm Description Join a hard-working, team-oriented crew at Southern Lumber & Millwork Corp., a local, family-owned and operated business proudly serving the Lowcountry for 85 years. About the Role This position works directly with customers to pull, stage, and load building materials accurately and efficiently. This is a physically demanding, fast-paced position supporting our yard and retail operations. What you’ll be doing: • Assisting customers by pulling orders and loading materials into vehicles and trucks • Safely operating forklifts and handling materials in a busy yard environment • Working on your feet approximately 90% of the day • Consistently lifting, carrying, and moving materials 50+ lbs • Working outdoors and in the warehouse in all weather conditions • Maintaining a clean, organized, and safe work area • Communicating clearly with team members and customers to ensure accuracy What We’re Looking For This role is best suited for someone who: • Is dependable and shows up ready to work every day • Is comfortable with physical labor throughout the entire shift • Can work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-volume environment • Values teamwork and takes pride in doing the job right the first time • Follows safety guidelines at all times Preferred Experience • Forklift operation • Material handling or lumber yard experience • Warehouse or construction-related work Physical & Work Environment • Continuous standing, walking, lifting, and carrying • Frequent lifting of 50+ lbs • Outdoor yard and warehouse setting • Exposure to heat, cold, humidity, and rain Our Culture At Southern Lumber, we value: • Honesty and integrity • Attention to detail • Teamwork and accountability • A strong work ethic If you take pride in working hard, supporting your team, and serving customers the right way, you’ll fit right in.
