Forklift/Flexi Day Driver - SRG Recruitment Job Listing For: Forklift/Flexi Day Driver • Location: segensworth • Type: Permanent • Experience Required: 1 Year Job Specification for Forklift/Flexi Day Driver Job Title : Forklift/Flexi Day Driver Location : Segensworth/ Fareham Department : Warehouse/Logistics Reports To : Warehouse Manager/Supervisor Job Type : Full-time Job Purpose : The Forklift/Flexi Day Driver is responsible for operating a forklift to transport goods safely and efficiently within the warehouse and loading/unloading areas. The role also involves driving a flexible vehicle (flexi) during day shifts to ensure smooth logistics operations, ensuring that all tasks are performed following safety guidelines and operational procedures. Key Responsibilities : • Safely operate a forklift (counterbalance, reach truck, or other equipment as required) to move, stack, load, and unload goods. • Perform daily checks and maintenance on forklift equipment to ensure it is in safe working order. • Safely transport goods from the warehouse to designated locations. • Follow all safety procedures while operating forklifts and flexi vehicles. • Load and unload deliveries to/from vehicles ensuring proper handling and securing of materials. • Maintain accurate records of inventory movements using handheld devices or manual logs. • Assist in inventory control, including stock taking and shelf organization. • Drive a flexi vehicle during day shifts as required for inter-site transportation or delivery of goods. • Collaborate with the warehouse team to ensure smooth operations and meet delivery deadlines. • Ensure compliance with relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations. • Assist with any general warehouse duties as needed, such as sorting, packing, or preparing materials for shipment. • Keep work areas clean and organized. Qualifications : • Valid forklift driver license (counterbalance, reach truck, or other relevant certifications as required). • Valid driving license for flexi vehicle operation. • Previous experience driving a forklift and flexi vehicle in a warehouse or logistics environment. • Experience with warehouse management systems or inventory management is a plus. • Knowledge of safety protocols and procedures when handling materials and operating equipment. • Strong communication and teamwork skills. • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Skills : • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in inventory management. • Good physical stamina and ability to lift and move heavy goods. • Ability to follow instructions and safety regulations. • Problem-solving skills to identify and resolve operational issues. • Flexibility in working hours, as required by the operational needs of the business. Working Conditions : • Work is conducted primarily in a warehouse environment. • The role may require standing, walking, bending, lifting, and operating machinery for extended periods. • Day shifts, with occasional overtime as required. • PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) will be provided and must be worn at all times. • Exposure to varying temperatures depending on warehouse conditions.
