Food Service Worker Calvary Church, Lancaster, PA Part time support staff – Non Exempt Purpose:    Responsible to work in Food Services, and Facilities for the purpose of supporting and assisting all ministries as they encourage others to pursue life in Christ. Working Relationship: Accountable to the Board of Elders through the Senior Pastor and Director of Facility Services, with direct supervision by Director of Food Services. Qualifications: • 6+ months of food service experience preferred or willing to learn. • Competent communication skills, both verbal and written. • Basic mathematical skills. • Proficient understanding of food allergies and modified diets. • Proficient understanding of Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points requirements. • Good people skills. An ability to be a team-player • Available to work shifts and extended hours. Responsibilities Role: Performs a wide range of  duties involved with preparing and/or serving foods and beverages in one or more of a variety of food service environments. May perform such duties as preparing salad items, hot foods, and/or cold foods, and/or assisting in the preparation of bakery items, as appropriate to the position. General Responsibilities • Performing preparation duties such as rinsing, peeling, slicing, and dicing fruit and vegetables. • Weighing and measuring ingredients. • Wrapping, date-labeling, and storing food items. • Cleaning and organizing work areas, equipment, utensils, and service station. • Following established recipes to prepare menu items. • Following guidelines to ensure correct serving temperatures and adequate portion control. • Serving customers in a fast, efficient, and friendly manner. • Providing customers with information regarding food ingredients, availability, and pricing. • Escalating customer concerns and complaints to management. • Complying with relevant safety, hygiene, and service standards and procedures. Work Schedule and Time Allotment • Work schedule: Part-time, flexible related to events and meals. • Potential Sunday and evening responsibilities • Available to work shifts and extended hours. To be managed and accounted for in cooperation with designated supervisor. Physical and Mental Requirements • To be successful in this role, you need to perform optimally in a dynamic, high-pressure environment. Preferred candidates are fast-paced, organized, and dexterous. • Light physical work requirements (lifting 10-20 lbs.), prolonged standing, potential reaching, climbing, occasionally outside in differing weather conditions .
