Description Shift: 8am-2pm (On-Call) Hourly rate: $16-$18 based on years of experience Join our dedicated team at a licensed childcare center where you will play a vital role in supporting daily meal service operations. As a Food Service Assistant, you will help ensure that children receive nutritious, well-prepared meals and snacks in a safe and welcoming environment. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to the health and well-being of young learners while working within a collaborative and supportive team. Key Responsibilities • Assist with the preparation, warming, and portioning of breakfast, lunch, and afternoon snacks in accordance with CACFP guidelines. • Deliver meals and snacks to classrooms in a timely and organized manner. • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized kitchen environment, adhering to health and safety regulations. • Support classroom staff with food service needs as required. • Ensure compliance with NYS Department of Health regulations and center policies related to food safety and sanitation. • Monitor and restock food supplies and utensils as needed. • Follow proper food handling and storage procedures to prevent contamination and spoilage. Skills and Qualifications • High school diploma or equivalent preferred. • Previous experience in food service, childcare, or related environment is a plus. • Knowledge of CACFP guidelines and NYS Department of Health regulations is desirable. • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. • Good communication and teamwork skills. • Ability to follow safety and sanitation procedures. • Flexibility and a positive attitude toward supporting children and staff.
