ALL ABOUT FOOD & BEVERAGE The Food & Beverage team enables   a consistent   experience for our guests by ensuring   product   is fresh, in stock, available and accurately priced and signed on the sales floor. They are experts   of   operations,   process   and efficiency. This team leads food and food services including replenishment, inventory accuracy, food safety, presentation,   pricing   and promotional signing processes for all Food   &   Beverage areas of the store. The role of a Food & Beverage Expert can provide you with the   skills and experiences of : • G uest service fundamentals and experience building a guest - first   and freshness   culture in   F ood &   B everage • Food & Beverage business fundamentals , including   sales trends, inventory, quality and freshness management,   and   guest shopping patterns • Understanding f ood seasonality, freshness and quality, food safety standards and routines, and merchandising • Working with a dynamic and fast-paced team focused on   the guest experience and   routinely executing the Food & Beverage Standards   and best practic es   through individual Assign ment Sheets   and task execution. As a   Food & Beverage Expert ,   no two days   are ever the same, but a typical day will   most likely include   the following responsibilities: • Create an Easy, Inspiring and Friendly guest experience by delivering on the following commitments: • Greet: • 10ft: be friendly – smile, make eye contact, or wave • 4ft: greet the guest, smile and   initiate   a warm, helpful interaction • Help guests find what they need and/or resolve issues to ensure a smooth, easy shopping experience • End every guest transaction with a sincere thank you • Actively support team efforts and   assist   peers in other areas while   maintaining   a positive and respectful attitude • Adjust to business and guest needs to deliver an easy and inspiring guest experience • Deliver an exceptional guest experience, providing a fresh and full shopping experience during all hours of operations, prioritizing the guest’s needs over task . • Uphold and   maintain   the execution of the Food   &   Beverage Standards . • Execute Food & Beverage processes including   food deliveries,   replenishment, straightening merchandise, in- stocks   routines, data accuracy, culling, rotation, cleaning,   signing   and   organizing and storing reserve   product . • Follow all food safety requirements as outlined in Target’s policies and procedures. • Use sampling and suggestive selling to promote products and increase sales . • Work with vendors to proactively set,   maintain   and make planned changes to   salesfloor   merchandise displays and to keep organized backroom space. • Locate and   identify   damaged,   recalled   or expired items and   process   according to Target’s policies and procedures. • Execute all federal,   state   and local   adult beverage   laws as they apply to your business . • Appropriately use and care for in-store and personal protective equipment; follow equipment control guidelines. • Always   d emonstrate   a culture of ethical conduct,   safety   and compliance . • Work in a safe manner   at all times ;   comply with   all safety policies, best practices, and training; report hazards and correct where possible. • S upport guest services such as back-up cashier, order pick up (OPU) and Drive-up (DU) and   maintain   a compliance culture while executing those duties, such as compliance with federal, state, and local laws . • All other duties   based   on business needs . The good news is that we have some amazing training that will help teach you everything you need to know to be a   Food & Beverage Expert .   But ,   there are a few skills you should have from the get-go: • Must be at least 18 years of age or older (Bakery Only) • Previous   food or grocery experience preferred, but not   required • Welcoming and helpful attitude toward   all   guests and other team members • Ability to communicate on multiple frequency devices and   operate   handheld scanners, and other   technology   equipment as directed • Work both independently and with a team • Resolve guest questions quickly   on the spot • Attention to detail and follow   multi-step processes • Capability to remain focused and composed in a fast-paced environment and   accomplish   multiple tasks within established   timeframes We are an awesome place to work and care about our teams, so we want to make sure we are clear on a few more basics   that   we expect: • Access all areas of the building to respond to guest or team member issues. • Interpret instructions,   reports   and information. • Accurately handle cash register operations as needed. • Climb up and down ladders if needed. • Scan,   handle   and move merchandise efficiently and safely, including   frequently   lifting or moving merchandise up to 44 pounds without   additional   assistance from others. • Flexible work schedule (e.g., nights,   weekends   and holidays); come to work when scheduled,   work scheduled shifts and take required meal   and rest breaks • Ability to work in environments that will include refrigeration and freezer temperatures and   conditions;   where common allergens may also be handled or present. • Capable of working in and exposure to varying temperatures, humidity, and other elements while performing certain job duties, including but not limited to Drive-Ups, carryout, etc. • Ability to remain mobile for the duration of a   scheduled shifts (shift length may vary) Find competitive benefits from financial and education to well-being and beyond at  https://corporate.target.com/careers/benefits .
