Description
We are seeking an experienced Floor Layer to join a well-established housing association on a long-term self-employed contract , delivering responsive repairs and planned maintenance across social housing properties in Norwich and the surrounding areas.
This is a specialist role requiring a strong background in cap and cove flooring alongside basic plumbing experience. Working within occupied properties, you'll play a key role in delivering high-quality repairs while providing excellent customer service to tenants.
This role may also suit professionals currently working in, or ready to step into, the following positions: Floor Layer, Vinyl Floor Layer, Flooring Installer, Multi Trade Operative (Flooring Bias), Multi Skilled Operative, Multi Trade Plumber or Wetroom Fitter.
Key Responsibilities:
• Install, repair and maintain cap and cove flooring.
• Complete all associated floor preparation works.
• Carry out basic plumbing repairs and maintenance.
• Undertake planned and reactive maintenance within occupied social housing properties.
• Ensure all work is completed safely and to a high standard.
• Deliver excellent customer service while working in tenants' homes.
• Manage your own workload and work independently across a designated patch.
• Ensure compliance with company procedures, health & safety standards and client expectations.
About You:
We're looking for an experienced Floor Layer with plumbing knowledge and a proven track record within the social housing or repairs and maintenance sector.
You'll have:
• Proven experience installing and repairing cap and cove flooring.
• Previous plumbing experience.
• Experience working within social housing, responsive repairs or planned maintenance (desirable).
• The ability to work independently and manage your own workload.
• A professional, reliable and customer-focused approach.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality workmanship.
Qualifications:
• Formal qualifications such as NVQs or City & Guilds are not essential. Our client is primarily interested in candidates who can demonstrate the right level of practical experience and a proven track record within the role.
