Mission Brief
As Flight Operations Engineer you will work within the Flight Operations and Licensing team , and you will perform tasks related to flight operations. The team deals with a wide range of topics , from mission and flig ht safety critical assessments, interf aces with ra nge safe ty an d telemetry antennas , up to supporting flight operations from the mission control room .
Your Role in Our Space Mission
Manage the development of flight operations real time toolset (COLA services, weather assessments, antenna pointing etc) and their interface with existing tools and APIs
Manage the processes for COLA, antenna pointing as well as flight monitoring.
Support flight operations by managing pre and during flight procedures related to mission and safety critical systems
Manage mission configuration for mission critical and safety critical systems
Support the range and licensing related operational documentation preparation
Manage requirement definition for mission control infrastructure/software upgrades
Manage the training plan for Flight Operators that perform the flight monitoring for mission and safety critical operators
Define and maintain Crisis Management procedures for flight operations
Support mission management in provision of post flight reporting
Support the maintenance and development of ground segment (Telemetry, Data processing)
Perform test and flight operations from the mission control
The role will involve software development for real-time operations as well as operations preparation and execution. The ratio between the tasks is expected to be 50%-50% at regime .
Qualification Checklist
Bachelor/master’s degree in aerospace engineering, Systems Engineering, Telecommunication Engineering or similar
Knowledge of orbital mechanics and launch vehicle flight trajectories
Knowledge of rocket systems/space systems engineering
Proven experience on Python/MATLAB/C++ or similar
Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git)
At least 2 years of experience working in launch/flight operations related fields (real time software, GNC, ground segment, telemetry)
Capability to work in control rooms in high stress environments
Capability of presenting complex issues in a clear and insightful manner
Highly organized with high attention to detail
Effective team player adjusting self-sufficiently and quickly to a changing work environment
Fluent English
Bonus Skills
Experience in interfacing with third party APIs
Experience with In Orbit Collision assessments (COLA services etc)
Experience with mission control tools
