We are currently hiring a full-time Flat Rate Service Technician to support our growing service department. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced automotive technician to advance their career with a company that has been recognized as a Top Workplace by the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette for multiple years.As a Flat Rate Technician, you will be responsible for diagnosing, maintaining, and repairing a wide variety of vehicle systems while delivering high-quality workmanship in an efficient manner. Successful candidates will possess strong technical skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to providing exceptional customer service. What You'll Do: • Perform diagnostics, maintenance, and repairs on vehicles according to manufacturer and dealership standards • Inspect, diagnose, and repair engine, transmission, suspension, steering, brake, HVAC, and electrical systems • Utilize diagnostic equipment and service information systems to identify and resolve vehicle concerns • Perform factory-recommended maintenance services and vehicle inspections • Accurately document repair orders, findings, and completed work • Communicate repair needs and recommendations with service advisors and management • Maintain productivity and efficiency while ensuring quality workmanship • Follow all dealership, manufacturer, and safety procedures • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area • Participate in ongoing training to stay current with automotive technology and manufacturer requirements What We Offer: Career Growth: • Manufacturer training and certification opportunities • Advancement opportunities within the service department and Jim Shorkey Auto Group Positive Work Environment: • Team-oriented culture that values your contributions Comprehensive Benefits: • Medical, Dental, Vision • HSA/FSA, Life & Disability Insurance • 401(k) with Company Match Work-Life Balance: • Paid Vacation • No Sundays Perks: • Employee discounts • Company-issued uniforms • State-of-the-art equipment and facilities Requirements • Must be at least 18 years old with a valid driver's license • Previous automotive technician experience required • Strong diagnostic and repair skills across multiple vehicle systems • ASE Certifications preferred but not required • Manufacturer certifications are a plus • Ability to operate diagnostic tools, scan tools, and shop equipment safely and effectively • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, flat-rate environment • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities • Team-oriented with a strong work ethic and positive attitude • Strong communication skills and customer-focused mindset • Must be willing to complete a background check and drug screening • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical tasks associated with automotive repair • Commitment to continuous learning and professional development
