Description
Total Group of Companies is looking for a Junior Fire Systems Technician to join our team of fire & life safety professionals! This is an entry-level position ideal for someone looking to start a career in the fire protection industry. This role will support inspections, maintenance, and basic service work across a variety of fire protection systems including fire alarm, sprinkler, extinguishers, and suppression systems. You will work under the guidance of experienced technicians and receive on-the-job training. Under the direct supervision of the Sr. Fire Systems Technician, daily tasks and activities include but are not limited to: · Assist with inspection, service, and basic troubleshooting of fire protection systems · Support repairs, upgrades, and maintenance tasks as directed · Help prepare inspection and deficiency reports · Assist with equipment setup, teardown, and general job site tasks · Maintain company equipment and vehicles · Follow all safety procedures and company policies · Participate in scheduled inspections and service work The ideal candidate would possess the following traits: · Strong willingness to learn and take direction · Reliable and punctual · Ability to work independently and as part of a team · Good communication skills · Safety driven mindset · Positive attitude and strong work ethic To be considered for this role, you must meet the following criteria: · Authorized to work in Canada, and possess a valid SIN · Valid Driver’s License (clean abstract preferred) · Willing to travel as required and work after hours/weekends as needed · Willing to participate in a rotating on-call schedule (once trained) · Ability to obtain standard oilfield and safety training tickets as required Qualifications · Previous experience in construction, mechanical, electrical, or safety-related work is an asset but not required · Interest in fire protection systems and safety services · Basic mechanical or technical aptitude · Willingness to work toward certifications (such as CFAA) over time · Ability to read basic drawings or willingness to learn
