Overview Debbie Burbage Recruitment is delighted to be working exclusively with our North Northamptonshire client to recruit an experienced Finance Director. This is a key appointment at an important time for the business, offering the opportunity to play a central role in stabilising, shaping and driving the business forward. With a turnover of circa £20m, the business has experienced a challenging and transitional 12 months. However, there is a clear and shared commitment from the leadership team to turn performance around and return the business to profitability, creating a genuine opportunity for the right individual to make a meaningful and lasting impact. The Role Working closely with a group of four directors, you will act as a trusted financial lead, bringing clarity, structure and direction to the finance function and wider business. This is a role that requires both strength and sensitivity, as you navigate a range of personalities while keeping the business aligned to its overall objectives. You will lead a small team of four, providing guidance, support and development to ensure they feel empowered and capable during a period of change. Key Responsibilities • Taking full ownership of the finance function, providing clear leadership and direction • Partnering with the board to support the turnaround strategy and drive a return to profitability • Delivering accurate and insightful financial reporting to support decision making • Leading budgeting, forecasting and cashflow management with a focus on improving performance • Providing commercial insight to identify risks, opportunities and areas for improvement • Strengthening financial controls, processes and governance across the business • Managing statutory reporting, tax matters and VAT compliance • Supporting and developing a finance team of four, creating structure, clarity and confidence • Building strong, effective relationships with multiple stakeholders across the business The Candidate You will be an experienced Finance Director ready to step into a broader leadership role within a dynamic and evolving environment. You will be comfortable operating in situations that require resilience, emotional intelligence and the ability to influence at board level. You will bring a strong blend of technical expertise and commercial thinking, with a proven ability to support business turnaround or improvement. Just as importantly, you will be someone who can bring calm, clarity and direction, while supporting and developing those around you. Remuneration • Competitive depending on experience • Bonus up to 20% • 40 hours per week – Office-based • 25 days holiday plus Bank Holidays Please note: This role is has been offered and accepted.
