Ref: RB4491 Are you an experienced Finance Officer looking for a varied role where no two days are the same? Do you enjoy combining transactional finance with payroll responsibilities? Are you available to start in August and looking for a flexible part-time opportunity? A passionate organisation is seeking a Finance Officer to join its close-knit finance team on a 12-month fixed-term contract . Based in Coventry, this is a fantastic opportunity for a proactive finance professional to take ownership of a broad range of finance responsibilities while supporting the smooth running of a busy organisation. This role is offered on a part-time basis , with flexibility for between 20 and 25 hours per week , making it an excellent opportunity for someone looking to balance a varied finance role with flexible working hours. Please note: the successful candidate must be available to start in August. The key responsibilities of the Finance Officer are: • Managing the purchase ledger, sales ledger and daily banking activities, ensuring financial transactions are processed accurately and efficiently. • Processing supplier invoices, preparing payment runs and allocating incoming receipts. • Completing bank, petty cash and balance sheet reconciliations to ensure the accuracy of financial records. • Monitoring outstanding debtor balances and supporting credit control activities where required. • Producing monthly financial reports, reconciliations and supporting schedules for the wider finance team. • Assisting with budget monitoring, cash flow reporting and the preparation of financial information. • Supporting the year-end process and providing information for the external audit. • Processing the monthly payroll, ensuring starters, leavers and payroll amendments are administered accurately. • Maintaining payroll records and liaising with external bodies where required. • Providing general finance and administrative support to ensure the smooth day-to-day operation of the finance function. The successful candidate will have: • Previous experience working in a Finance Officer or similar all-round finance position. • Strong experience across purchase ledger, sales ledger and bank reconciliations. • Previous payroll processing experience. • Excellent attention to detail with the ability to manage a varied workload independently. • Strong communication and organisational skills. • Good experience using finance systems and Microsoft Excel. • A proactive, adaptable and hands-on approach to work. • Be available to commence the role in August.
