Description
We are building a finance function that operates as a strategic partner to the business, not a back-office cost centre. This role is the operational backbone that makes that possible. You will own the full accounting cycle end-to-end bookkeeping, payables, receivables, compliance, and financial reporting and ensure the Finance Manager has clean, timely, and reliable data to drive business decisions. Beyond transaction processing, we expect you to bring analytical curiosity: flag anomalies, prepare first-cut variance commentary, and build the MIS packs that feed into leadership reviews. If you are someone who closes the books and then asks “what’s the story behind these numbers?” - this role is your launchpad into a finance business partnering career. What Success Looks Like 3 months: You own the full month-end close independently and deliver financials within 10 working days of month-end. Compliance calendar is under control with zero missed deadlines. 6 months: The Finance Manager receives complete, accurate MIS packs from you with first-cut commentary, minimal rework needed. You proactively flag data issues before they become problems. 12 months: You are the reliable operational backbone of the finance function. The Finance Manager can focus on business partnering and strategic work because the accounting engine runs cleanly under you. The key responsibilities includes: Financial Accounting & Book-keeping Maintain accurate accounting records in the general ledger. Record daily financial transactions such as invoices, payments, receipts, and journal entries. Perform month-end and year-end closing activities. Reconcile bank accounts, vendor accounts, and customer accounts. Ensure proper documentation and record keeping for all financial transactions. Support departments with financial planning and cost control. Audit & Compliance Assist in internal and external audits. Provide necessary financial data and documentation to auditors. Ensure compliance with company policies and financial regulations. Implement internal controls to safeguard company assets. Liaise with tax consultants and authorities when required.
