About the Role This is a FIFO position in Barrow Island with a 2 weeks on : 2 weeks off roster for a contract duration of 2 years’ contract with an oil and gas operator. The Environment Specialist will join the Asset Retirement HSE Team, providing practical environmental support across Asset Retirement operations and projects, ensuring environmental compliance, effective risk management, and continuous improvement while supporting the safe and environmentally responsible delivery of decommissioning, remediation, well abandonment, and related activities. Responsibilities: Conduct environmental inspections and compliance checks. Support monitoring, sampling, waste management and fauna handling. Deliver environmental training and awareness programs. Contribute to environmental risk, rehabilitation and improvement projects. Collaborate with teams, contractors and regulators. Participate in emergency response and incident investigations. Support environmental approvals, audits and reporting. Skills/Requirements Environmental qualification (Diploma or Degree). Experience in environmental risk and compliance management. Strong stakeholder engagement and influencing skills. Effective communicator with a proactive HSE mindset. Experience in monitoring, incident response and investigations preferred.
