Field Service Technician Location: United States (Travel Required) Full-Time About AdeptAg AdeptAg LLC is a North American leader in controlled environment agriculture, delivering innovative automation, growing, and irrigation solutions to growers across the U.S. and Canada. Our Field Service team is central to that mission. The Role The Field Service Technician installs, maintains, and troubleshoots complex automated systems at greenhouse and nursery sites across the U.S. and Canada. This field-based role requires strong electro-mechanical expertise, the ability to work independently, and comfort with up to 75% travel. It offers excellent opportunities for technical growth. Key Responsibilities Installation and System Integration • Install, integrate, and commission automated systems (conveyors, hoppers, potting machines, transplanters, camera grading systems) in greenhouse and nursery environments • Collaborate with engineering teams during implementation Troubleshooting and Maintenance • Diagnose and resolve hardware and programming issues; perform repairs, upgrades, and preventive maintenance • Troubleshoot electrical systems (VFDs, PLCs, photo-eyes, encoders) and mechanical systems (pneumatic actuators, motors, gearboxes, chain drives) • Identify root causes and implement corrective actions Customer Support and Training • Provide onsite technical support; train operators on equipment setup and operation • Communicate clearly with customers and proactively with Remote Support and home office teams Documentation and Continuous Improvement • Accurately document service activities and support engineering with product improvement feedback • Represent AdeptAg professionally at all customer sites and during Remote Support Travel Requirements • Up to 75% travel per month (Mon–Fri), anywhere in the U.S. or Canada; occasional weekends as needed • Valid driver’s license required; passport may be required within 90 days of hire Education and Experience • Associate’s degree in Electronics, Mechatronics, Automation, or equivalent trade certification • 3+ years of hands-on electro-mechanical experience, including automated system installation and troubleshooting • Experience in commercial greenhouse or nursery environments preferred Technical Skills and Competencies • Strong electro-mechanical troubleshooting on electrical and mechanical systems • Able to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics • Self-directed with strong time management; calm under pressure • Clear communicator with a professional, accountable approach Why Join AdeptAg • Competitive compensation package • Generous 401(k) with company-paid contribution • Medical, dental, and vision coverage • Company-paid life insurance • Voluntary life, accident, and disability insurance options • Opportunity to work with advanced automation technology • Significant technical growth and advancement potential • Stable and growing North American organization If you’re a motivated technician with strong electro-mechanical skills and a passion for hands-on problem solving, we’d love to hear from you.
