Field Service Technician II (CC-Pecos) Job Details | Enerflex Ltd Find a Job at Enerflex Find a Job at Enerflex Business Unit: North America Location: Pecos, TX, US, 79772 Travel: Up to 25% Req ID: 3992 Field Service Technician II (CC-Pecos) Summary The Field Service Technician II is responsible for performing basic to advanced maintenance functions, procedures, activities, and responsibilities associated with working on gas compression packages. Duties include learning from and assisting other technicians with preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, diagnosing, repairing, installation, and commissioning of both gas fired and electric driven compressor packages. The purpose of the Field Service Technician II level is to acquire proficiency in performing advanced maintenance, new equipment installation, and overhaul actions with limited supervision that will allow for progression to the Senior Field Service Technician. Principle Responsibilities and Duties • Submit accurate field service reports, expense reports, and other necessary paperwork daily. • Provide basic leadership and training to new Field Service Technician I and Trainee. • Diagnose engine/compressor failures accurately and efficiently. • Provide input to Supervisor on personnel and materials needs to provide optimal job planning. • Complete accurate and timely diagnostics and repairs of compressors, engines and controls on gas compressor packages in the field in adverse conditions with limited to no supervision. • Troubleshoot electrical systems, basic controls, and unit control panels such as Murphy, and Altronic. • Complete basic engine tuning functions to adjust engine performance and emissions on multiple major OEM’s (CAT/Waukesha) • Respond and repair recurring problems and emergency services. • Assist, direct and conduct installation of new units including commissioning and start-up inspections with little to no supervision. • Perform mechanical inspection using micrometers, pressure gauges, electronic diagnostic equipment and other specialty tools independently. • Must be able to be on a call-out rotation and effectively make emergency repairs. • All duties and responsibilities could include a large amount of travel at short notice including nights, weekends, and holidays. • Recognize and comply with Health, Safety and Environmental rules and policies of Enerflex and those that are applicable to each location • Represent the company in a professional manner at all times while providing outstanding customer service that aligns with Enerflex visions and values. • Other duties as assigned by supervisor. Qualifications • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and some vocational/technical related experience preferred • Must have 5+ years applicable experience • Understanding of Caterpillar Gas Engine Rating Pro (GERP) and similar OEM software • Experience working on a wide range of natural gas compressor packages and a firm grasp of the theories, components, controls, and adjustments required • Prefer certification from CAT/ Waukesha (or equivalent training) to things such as: • CAT Gas I • CAT Gas II • CAT Electrical • Ariel Basic • Ariel Mechanical • CAT 3500 ADEM III and IV • CAT 3500ULB and J • Waukesha VHP Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Currently, our organization is unable to consider candidates who require visa sponsorship or the transfer of an existing visa to obtain or maintain work authorization in the United States LI-JM1 Physical Requirements • Must be able to work under pressure • Must be able to work with the team in developing improved work processes for the department • Ability to lift, pull, push minimum of 50 lbs. • Ability to stand, kneel, bend, and stretch over and under pipeline equipment. • Ability to work in all climates and temperatures to do repairs on equipment.
