Role Overview :
The Field Operations Specialist – UAE & Middle East serves as the in-theatre operational backbone of CHAOS Industries' growing presence across the Gulf and wider region. Reporting directly to and supporting our senior deployed representative in the UAE, you will be the on-the-ground force multiplier that keeps our systems running, our customers confident, and our deployments executing flawlessly.
This is not a desk role. You will be hands-on with hardware in the field, embedded alongside military and government customers, and comfortable operating with a high degree of autonomy when the lead is engaged elsewhere. You are someone who brings calm and competence to complex environments — technically literate enough to troubleshoot a system integration issue, operationally sharp enough to plan and coordinate a multi-site deployment, and culturally aware enough to build trusted relationships across the region.
This role sits within the Operations & Training group on the Mission team, with a dotted line to CHAOS Industries' UK & Europe leadership.
Responsibilities :
Deployment & Field Operations - You will plan, coordinate and execute CHAOS system deployments across the UAE and wider Middle East — from pre-deployment readiness through to customer handover. When the senior representative is unavailable, you lead. You are the person who makes sure everything is in the right place, in the right condition, at the right time.
Technical Support & Systems - You will develop genuine hands-on familiarity with CHAOS hardware and software, capable of setting up systems, running configuration, and resolving first-line issues in the field without needing to call home. You don't need to be a software engineer, but you must be comfortable in a Linux terminal, with networking fundamentals, and with hardware that doesn't always behave.
Customer Relationships & Mission Success - You will be the customer's most reliable point of contact for day-to-day operational matters — building trusted relationships with military and government counterparts across the region, capturing feedback systematically, and feeding it back to CHAOS product and engineering teams. You represent CHAOS in the field; how you show up matters.
Regional Coordination - Beyond your core deployment responsibilities, you will support demonstrations, coordinate logistics for visiting CHAOS teams, and maintain awareness of the regional operating environment. You will also manage in-country administrative and compliance requirements to support a professional, low-friction CHAOS presence across the Gulf.
Minimum Requirements :
3+ years of experience in a field operations, systems support, or technical operations role — ideally within defence, government technology, or a mission-critical environment.
Proven ability to operate independently and make sound decisions in ambiguous, fast-moving field environments.
Sufficient technical aptitude to set up, configure, and conduct first-line troubleshooting of complex hardware/software systems; comfortable with networking fundamentals and basic Linux environments.
Experience planning and coordinating logistics for overseas operational deployments, including risk managem
