Description
We are seeking an enthusiastic and knowledgeable Field Hockey Coach to lead and develop players at the elementary, middle, and high school levels. The ideal candidate will have a passion for teaching the game, a strong understanding of field hockey fundamentals, and the ability to inspire young athletes to reach their full potential. Key Responsibilities: 1. Skill Development • Design and implement age-appropriate drills and activities focused on improving fundamental skills (e.g., dribbling, passing, shooting, positioning, and defense). • Provide individualized instruction to help players enhance their technique and understanding of the game. • Teach advanced strategies and game awareness for older players, as appropriate. 2. Practice Management • Organize and lead structured sessions tailored to different age groups (elementary, middle, and high school). • Ensure a positive, engaging, and safe learning environment for all participants. • Manage practice time effectively to maximize player engagement and skill improvement. 3. Game and Team Play Preparation • Incorporate small-sided games and scrimmages to develop game-specific skills. • Teach players the rules and strategies of field hockey in a fun and accessible manner. • Promote teamwork, sportsmanship, and a competitive spirit among players. 4. Mentorship and Leadership • Serve as a role model for young athletes, fostering a love for the sport and encouraging personal growth. • Build strong relationships with players, parents, and the broader community. 5. Program Support • Collaborate with other coaches and program directors to align coaching strategies and goals. • Communicate with parents regarding player progress, schedules, and program updates. Qualifications: • Previous experience playing and/or coaching field hockey. • Strong understanding of field hockey techniques, strategies, and rules. • Ability to work effectively with athletes of varying skill levels and ages. • Excellent communication and leadership skills. • Positive attitude and ability to motivate and inspire young athletes. • CPR/First Aid certification (preferred but not required). Work Schedule: • Clinics will be held on weekdays and/or weekends at our Indoor practice locations. • H ours based on program needs and age group sessions.
