Description
Location: Uri or Graubünden Swiss Lachs is looking for an experienced Aquaculture Farm Manager to oversee, manage and maintain our aquaculture farm. The role includes planning and directing daily farm operations, such as breeding, rearing, monitoring fish health and maintaining optimal farm conditions. The ideal candidate has excellent management skills, a strong interest in sustainable aquaculture practices and a solid understanding of aquatic animal health and nutrition. Your tasks Plan, coordinate and manage daily fish farm operations, including feeding, growth tracking and harvesting Maintain optimal farm conditions and ensure compliance with government regulations Ensure compliance with environmental, safety and quality standards Carefully monitor aquatic life to detect diseases or abnormal behaviour and implement solutions to mitigate health issues Stay informed about new technologies and best practices in aquaculture Prepare and manage the budget and farm resources efficiently Train and supervise staff Regularly report on farm status, challenges and production Manage relationships with other departments, suppliers, the community and regulatory bodies Your qualifications Minimum 5 years of experience as an Aquaculture Farm Manager or in a similar role Master’s degree in Aquaculture, Marine Biology or a related field is preferred Strong leadership, decision-making and problem-solving skills Familiarity with aquatic animal health and nutrition Knowledge of relevant regulations and quality standards in the aquaculture industry Proficiency in farm management software and MS Office Ability to handle high-stress situations Fluent English, with Italian or German language skills We offer Varied and responsible tasks in an interesting, high-level environment Progressive working conditions A positive working atmosphere in a motivated team Personal responsibility and flexibility Discounts in our stores Does this versatile challenge appeal to you?
