Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am–5:30pm (1-hour lunch)
An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Facilities Manager to join a well-established property business, taking responsibility for the operational management of a diverse commercial property portfolio.
This role offers the chance to oversee property operations, service charge budgets, statutory compliance, planned and reactive maintenance, and tenant relationships, working closely with Asset Managers to protect and enhance the value of the portfolio.
Facilities Manager – The Role
As Facilities Manager, you will be responsible for:
• Managing service charge budgets, reconciliations, and debt recovery.
• Procuring and managing planned and reactive maintenance works.
• Ensuring statutory compliance and health & safety across the portfolio.
• Carrying out regular property inspections and monitoring maintenance programmes.
• Managing contractor procurement, performance, and KPI delivery.
• Maintaining accurate property records, inspection schedules, and reporting.
• Responding promptly to tenant queries relating to maintenance, service charges, and insurance.
• Reviewing lease obligations and assisting with landlord and tenant repairing responsibilities.
• Coordinating vacant property inspections and supporting rates mitigation strategies.
• Working closely with Asset Managers, contractors, managing agents, and in-house maintenance teams.
• Supporting external managing agents to ensure consistent standards across outsourced properties.
Facilities Manager – About You
You’ll have experience managing commercial property or facilities portfolios and be confident dealing with tenants, contractors, and internal stakeholders.
You will also have:
• Experience managing service charge budgets and financial reporting.
• Strong knowledge of building maintenance and facilities management.
• Good understanding of landlord and tenant responsibilities and lease interpretation.
• Knowledge of statutory compliance, health & safety, and property legislation.
• Excellent organisational and communication skills.
• The ability to prioritise workloads and respond effectively to operational issues.
• A proactive, customer-focused approach.
