Description
The Wildwood Property Manager is responsible to the Director of Property & Facilities. This is a 25-29 hour/week position, with evening and weekend availability, as necessary. The Manager will oversee the day to day property and facility needs of Wildwood including general maintenance, plumbing, carpentry, electrical and grounds care. Compensation includes salary, paid time off and access to a vehicle for business use. General Responsibilities: • Ensure the property and facility contributes to a positive visitor experience and maintain positive relationships with Wildwood stakeholders and partners. • Responsible for preventative maintenance and building improvements/renovations. • Comply with applicable regulatory and local government guidelines, OSHA and American Camping Association standards. • Complete and maintain required certifications including: pool maintenance, Kansas Small Systems Water Certificates and Kansas Class 1 Waster Water Operator Certificate. Facilities • Maintain property and facilities in good operating condition at all times with priority to issues impacting camper and visitor safety and experience. Manage routine and annual maintenance; inspect facilities regularly and address essential repairs needed; execute cabin and facility renovations. Grounds: • Manage proper seasonal care of grounds including: mowing, pond care, road maintenance & snow removal, management of invasive species and timber management. Ensure adherence to lagoon management standards including mowing, weir cleaning and other corrective actions identified in monthly & quarterly inspections. Oversee environmentally responsible waste management practices that maximize recycling when possible. Equipment & Supplies : • Responsible for well-organized and proper storage of camp resources including maintenance equipment and supplies, camp recreational items and other camper resources. Maintain maintenance and inventory of equipment and tools on property. Ensure preventative maintenance for vehicles, tractors, golf cart, gator and mowers. Core Competencies: • Strong support of Wildwood Outdoor Education Center mission and values and enthusiasm to contribute to the unique camp and day program experience • Competency in general maintenance knowledge and skills in plumbing, electrical, carpentry, machine and vehicle maintenance • Proficiency in use of tractors, chain saw and other equipment competency required • Must be collaborative, flexible and adaptable • Organizational skills including the ability to establish daily and weekly goals • Ability to adhere to established policies and procedures • Ability to learn and meet requirements of various certifications, regulations and standards that may apply • Mechanical aptitude • Advanced problem solving skills needed Minimum Qualifications: • High School Diploma • 3-5 years general maintenance experience including plumbing, carpentry, electrical • Trade Experience a plus • Paid time off • 3% matching in SIMPLE IRA after one year of service
