Fabricator/Welder MIG We are looking for an experienced Fabricator/Welder to join great team in an established family-owned business in Leeds. Our client is a leading manufacturer and supplier of electrical power distribution equipment and pioneers of super low loss amorphous transformer technology. The Role: • You will operate welding machines to fuse metal segments together using MIG or other processes • Measuring, cutting, clamping, grinding, drilling, or tacking metal pieces before welding • You will be required to fabricate parts following mechanical drawings. • You will prepare work to be accomplished by studying assembly instructions, blueprint specifications, and parts lists, gathering parts, subassemblies, tools and materials. • You will be expected to maintain the highest level of workmanship standards and product quality ensuring products are produced and delivered OTIF to the customers’ requirements. • You will check and complete all paperwork associated with the works order. • Performance of area housekeeping activities, including the prompt reporting of problems shortages or equipment breakdowns. • You may be required to visit customer sites throughout the UK. • Using general workshop machinery and hand tools related the role. • Quality inspection of colleague’s output. Skills, Knowledge & Experience: • Fabrication/welding- MIG, MMA/Stick Welding, Stud Welding and Plasma Cutting- essential • Preferable have experience using the Armarda Press Brake • Hands-on experience of working within a mechanical/electrical engineering environment – desirable • The ability to understand mechanical drawings – essential • Overhead crane/lifting slinging experience – desirable • FLT Counterbalance – desirable • Have good written and verbal communication skills • Experience of working collaboratively with other operations personnel • Experience of working within a continuous improvement environment – desirable • Full driving licence – essential • Strong attention to detail • Good communication skills Salary and benefits: • Salary negotiable • 25 days holiday per year plus 8 bank holidays • Company Profit Share Scheme (paid quarterly) • Nine-day fortnight (37.5 hrs) plus two daily paid breaks • Superb canteen facility with tea, coffee and milk provided • 3 x salary death in service • Healthcare cash plan scheme • Salary sacrifice EV scheme and on-site electric charging points • 4 weeks full pay paternity/maternity leave • Pension • Parking on site APPLY FOR THIS JOB
