About us The Regional Emergency Clinic is a small compassionate team that provides high quality afterhours care to pets in the Manawatu, Horowhenua and Whanganui Regions. We pride ourselves on creating a positive work environment through staff support, collaboration and upskilling. We are a skilled, hardworking team that enjoys ourselves whilst caring for our region's pets. About these Roles Starting January 2025, we have two regular roles available; Role 1 Saturday 4pm-10pm with overnight on call • This is available as either 1 shift every 2 weeks or 1 shift every 4 weeks. Role 2 Sunday 3pm-10pm with overnight on call • This is available as 1 shift every 3-4 weeks. These are some of the essential skills we are seeking for these roles; • Confidence to work with the varied caseload of after-hours in a sole charge capacity. • Solid surgical experience with the ability to perform all types of emergency surgery. • Comfortable with stabilizing and managing critical care cases, including interpreting in-house diagnostics. • Compassionate communication with clients. About you In addition to your expertise and experience, the following personal qualities are important to us; • Collaborative and supportive team member that fits well into our current team. • Empathetic to clients with the ability to guide them through stressful/upsetting situations with compassion • Accurate and consistent charging for services and medications • Shows initiative and problem solving when dealing with complex emergency cases Our location Our service operates out of Totally Vets Feilding on weekends and public holidays. Feilding is a friendly picturesque town with beautiful gardens, shops and cafes. It is a short 20-minute drive from the city of Palmerston North.
