Five Rings is a proprietary trading firm with offices in New York, London, and Amsterdam. This role is for an experienced Linux Systems Administrator to manage workstations and servers for the firm's trading operations. The company runs a Linux-first infrastructure on both servers and trader desktops, with minimal Windows presence. What You'll Do • Install and maintain workstations on trading floors and in offices • Install and maintain servers and networking appliances in data centers, including racking and stacking • Manage hardware maintenance and large-scale build-outs, sometimes requiring domestic and international travel • Install and support office appliances including printers, phones, and televisions • Interact with users across the organization to support their systems needs What You Need • Fluency in Linux administration • Experience with Debian/Ubuntu • Experience with BIND, Ansible, KVM, and Zabbix • Demonstrated ability to complete tasks and handle frequent context switches • Knowledge of cybersecurity tools including 2FA, iptables rulesets, fail2ban, and Malwarebytes • Ability to lift and install equipment weighing up to 50 pounds • Comfortable with hands-on datacenter work including racking and stacking Nice to Have • Scripting experience in Bash and Python • SQL and Perl scripting experience • Windows administration skills • Breadth of experience across varied responsibilities in a small-shop environment Annual base salary $275,000 plus discretionary bonus
