Description
Pay:£18.42
Contract: 4 Months.
We allocate, draft and deliver a range of correspondence and parliamentary question functions, working with colleagues across DfE and sometimes in other government departments too, if topics are beyond the scope of DfE policies.
As part of our team, you will help manage and respond to queries from members of the public and Members of Parliament. Full training for this role will be given on the job.
Core to the role will be written skills, influencing and communication skills. You will need to feel confident in speaking to a wide range of staff from all grades across the department in order to analyse correspondence and propose a response using pre-approved briefing material.
Duties will vary over time and the role holder will need to be adaptable and resilient, ready to undertake a diverse range of tasks including any of the following:
• Dealing with incoming emails and letters, analysing content and progressing them through the system
• Liaise with policy teams to request input into responses.
• Maintain close and effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Learn how to share and communicate up to date information with your team members.
• Other administrative duties involved with correspondence handling.
• Support the wider team by identifying potential improvements to the way we work and promoting your ideas
Correspondence is regularly received by email, drafted using Word, sometimes stored and shared on Sharepoint and tracked through a Microsoft Dynamics CRM (Iris). Full training will be provided but previous experience of any or all of this would be beneficial.
