Excavator Operator (Civil / Earthworks) Firma Contracting is currently seeking an experienced excavator operator for civil / earthworks projects located in Edmonton and area. We do rehabilitation work allowing us to   be less weather dependant and have less downtime due to weather. Hourly Wage:  $42 Duties include (but are not limited to): • Finish / detailed excavation scopes • Loading trucks • Site prep for utility installation • Adherence to legislation for excavation and trenching requirements • Lower materials to pipe crews using proper rigging mechanisms and procedures • Operate equipment in close proximity to ground personnel and other equipment • Ensure work is always done safely, to the highest quality standard while maintaining strong production • Promote, execute and adhere to the company’s safety program • Daily equipment inspections and maintenance • Conduct oneself in a professional manner with honesty and integrity Required Skills: • 5+ years of experience as a finish operator • Municipal underground utility experience is an asset • Exceptionally safety conscious • Able to work independently and follow instruction from the superintendent / foreman • Ability to operate other equipment is an asset • Strong communication skills Required Certifications: • Ground Disturbance Level 2 (required) • CSTS 2020 (required) • WHMIS 2015 (required)
