Description
We are looking for a motivated, practical, and enthusiastic Estates Team Member to join our friendly team. This is a varied, hands-on role where no two days are the same. You will help maintain our grounds, buildings, and animal facilities to a high standard, ensuring they are safe, welcoming, and well cared for.
Key Responsibilities
• Carry out daily animal husbandry duties, including feeding, watering, cleaning enclosures, monitoring animal welfare, and maintaining accurate records.
• Maintain gardens, lawns, borders, and landscaped areas through planting, pruning, mowing, weeding, and seasonal maintenance.
• Undertake general maintenance and repair work across the homes and school sites, including basic carpentry, painting, plumbing, and other practical tasks.
• Assist with fencing, pathways, outdoor structures, and estate infrastructure.
• Operate and maintain gardening and maintenance equipment safely.
• Ensure high standards of cleanliness, health and safety, and biosecurity are maintained
• Respond to maintenance issues promptly and support planned improvement projects.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues and be willing to assist across different areas of the estate as required
About You
The successful candidate will:
• Have practical experience in one or more of the following: animal care, grounds maintenance, gardening, or general property maintenance.
• Be physically fit and comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Have good problem-solving skills and a proactive, can-do attitude.
• Be reliable, organised, and able to work independently as well as part of a team.
• Take pride in maintaining high standards and attention to detail.
• Hold a full UK driving licence.
• Have relevant qualifications or experience in animal care, horticulture, or maintenance.
