Description Summary Operates heavy equipment and trucks to tow equipment, safely and efficiently. Loads and unloads heavy equipment. Requires knowledge of standard practices, methods, and materials used in street construction and maintenance activities. Requires knowledge of drainage and maintenance of proper grades. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following . Other duties may be assigned. Operates a backhoe/loader, front end loader, heavy roller. Builds forms for curbs, road culverts, gutters and sidewalks, retaining walls, storm sewers and concrete paving. Operates a motor truck to sand icy roadways, plow snowy roadways Services and makes skilled repairs to equipment Pours concrete and fills pavement cracks with asphalt May also be assigned to semi-skilled or unskilled work, operating generator powered equipment, tractors, and pneumatic equipment Supervisory Responsibilities This job has no supervisory responsibilities. Requirements Education and/or Experience High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one year's related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Computer Skills None required. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations Valid KY Drivers License Commercial Driver's License Physical Demands The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
