A well-established industrial manufacturing and laboratory services organization is seeking an Environmental Technician to support its operations and regulatory compliance programs at its Houston, TX area facility. Based in a hands-on production environment, this individual will lead workplace safety, environmental reporting, and risk reduction initiatives while partnering closely with employees and management. The Role • Lead the development, implementation, and auditing of environmental, health, and safety policies, procedures, and compliance programs. • Manage regulatory reporting requirements, including OSHA, environmental, air emissions, stormwater, and hazardous waste documentation. • Conduct hazard assessments, job safety analyses, incident investigations, risk assessments, and corrective action tracking to reduce workplace risks. • Deliver safety training for employees and contractors, facilitate safety meetings, oversee safety committee activities, and promote a strong safety culture throughout the organization. • Maintain safety equipment inspection programs, contractor compliance requirements, emergency preparedness initiatives, and occupational health records. The Candidate • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science or a related field; equivalent experience will also be considered. • 2+ years of Environmental experience within manufacturing, industrial, metals, chemicals, or other process-driven environments. • Strong knowledge with state & federal Environmental regulations, including Stormwater, Waste Disposal, and Air Permitting • Excellent communication, training, organizational, and problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently and influence safe work practices across all levels of the organization.
