Job Summary We are looking for an Enterprise Storage and Backup Expert to manage,   maintain , and   optimize   enterprise storage and backup infrastructure.   You'll   ensure high availability, performance, data protection, and disaster recovery readiness across mission-critical systems, and   you'll   provide end-to-end L3 troubleshooting across storage, backup, and OS layers while partnering with infrastructure, platform, and application teams to deliver reliable storage and restore outcomes at scale. Your primary focus will be keeping existing storage and backup systems stable, secure, and up to date, while contributing to design improvements and modernization initiatives as the platform evolves. What You Will Do • Administer and manage enterprise storage platforms such as SAN, NAS, and Object Storage to ensure reliable and secure data availability. • Configure and handle storage arrays including HPE 3PAR/Primera, NetApp, Dell EMC, or equivalent hardware, performing provisioning tasks such as creating LUNs and volumes. • Perform zoning, masking, and multipathing configurations to   optimize   storage accessibility and resilience. • Monitor storage system performance and   utilization   while developing capacity plans that accommodate current and future needs. • Conduct detailed troubleshooting and root cause analysis for storage-related issues and implement performance tuning strategies. • Manage storage operations such as replication, snapshots, cloning, and disaster recovery configurations to ensure data protection and rapid recovery capabilities. • Support migration activities, hardware upgrades, and lifecycle management, coordinating with vendors and internal teams to minimize downtime. • Administer and   optimize   backup solutions including but not limited to Commvault, Veritas NetBackup, Veeam, Rubrik, and Cohesity. • Define and enforce backup policies, retention schedules, and recovery procedures, regularly performing backup validation and restoration testing. • Troubleshoot backup failures and enhance backup performance to meet enterprise recovery requirements and compliance standards. • Support disaster recovery testing and planning, ensuring alignment with organizational business continuity   objectives . • Integrate and support storage in Linux (RHEL, Oracle Linux, SUSE) and Windows   operating   environments, managing platform-specific storage dependencies. • Support storage protocols such as NFS, CIFS/SMB,   Fibre   Channel, and iSCSI,   facilitating   seamless data transfer and connectivity. • Provide storage support for databases including Oracle, Cassandra, PostgreSQL, and MongoDB to   maintain   high availability and performance. • Assist   in daily administration tasks related to storage infrastructure hardware and software systems. • Support container and virtualization platforms such as VMware, OpenShift, Kubernetes, and   KVM   by ensuring storage compatibility and reliability. • Utilize enterprise monitoring tools to continuously track storage and backup system health and proactively address potential issues. • Automate routine operational tasks using scripting languages such as Shell, PowerShell, or automation platforms like Ansible to improve efficiency and reduce errors. • Implement and   maintain   security measures including encryption and ransomware protection to safeguard critical data assets. • Develop and   maintain   comprehensive operational documentation, including standard operating procedures and architecture diagrams, to support knowledge sharing and compliance. • Engage with vendor management processes to coordinate support,   procure   hardware, and integrate solutions that align with enterprise requirements. • Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams while   demonstrating   excellent communication and documentation skills. • Adapt to working pressures in a 24x7 support environment,   demonstrating   reliability and a proactive approach when responding to critical incidents. Required Skills & Experience • 6 + years of hands-on experience in enterprise storage and backup operations (or equivalent). • Administration of SAN/NAS/object storage; provisioning (LUNs/volumes), performance monitoring, and capacity planning. • Experience with major storage arrays (HPE 3PAR/Primera / Alletra , NetApp, Dell EMC, or equivalent). • Strong knowledge of zoning, masking, and multipathing ( Fibre   Channel / iSCSI). • Backup platform administration (Commvault, Veritas NetBackup, Veeam, Rubrik, Cohesity, or similar) including policies, retention, validation, and restore testing. • Disaster recovery concepts and experience supporting DR testing and planning. • Linux (RHEL/Oracle Linux/SUSE) and Windows storage integration and troubleshooting. • Scripting/automation skills (Shell, PowerShell, Ansible or similar) to automate routine operations. • Operational excellence: incident response, root cause analysis, documentation, and vendor coordination. • Ability to work in a 24x7 support environment. Nice to Have • Experience with ransomware-resilient backup designs (immutable storage, air-gapped copies) and broader security hardening. • Hands-on work with virtualization and container platforms (VMware, OpenShift, Kubernetes, Hyper-V) from a storage perspective. • Storage support for enterprise databases (Oracle, Cassandra, PostgreSQL, MongoDB) in high-availability setups. • Experience with large-scale migrations, hardware refresh programs, and vendor tooling. What Success Looks Like • Backups complete reliably and meet defined RPO/RTO targets; restores are regularly   validated   and predictable. • Storage performance and capacity are proactively   monitored , and expansions are planned before they become incidents. • Incidents are handled efficiently with clear root cause analysis and preventive follow-ups. • DR tests run smoothly and produce actionable improvements to resilience and recovery procedures. • Operational documentation stays current and enables consistent, compliant execution across the team. What We Value End-to-End Ownership You take ownership of storage and backup services and follow through on fixes until   they're   resolved. Strong Hands-On Engineering We expect engineers who dive deep into root cause analysis, automate repetitive work, and drive preventive improvements. Risk-Aware Change Management You manage risk in live environments through careful change planning and methodical execution. Clear Communication You communicate clearly during incidents, document what you learn, and produce runbooks others can follow. Continuous Improvement Blameless postmortems, automation over manual processes,   standardisation   opportunities, and learning from failure. Career Growth You'll   have the opportunity to deepen your   expertise   across enterprise storage, backup operations, and reliability practices, and to lead   stabilisation   and   modernisation   initiatives that improve how the platform is delivered and supported. Used Technologies (Current Environment) SAN/NAS/Object Storage, HPE 3PAR/Primera, NetApp, Dell EMC,   Fibre   Channel, iSCSI, NFS, CIFS/SMB, Commvault, Veritas NetBackup, Veeam, Rubrik, Cohesity, Linux (RHEL, Oracle Linux, SUSE), Windows Server, VMware, OpenShift, Kubernetes,   KVM,   Shell, PowerShell, Ansible, Oracle DB, Cassandra, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Elasticsearch / Logstash / Kibana How to Apply Please   submit   your CV and   a short note   answering: • Which storage platforms have you administered in production (e.g., HPE 3PAR/Primera, NetApp, Dell EMC or similar)? • Which backup solutions have you   operated   (Commvault, Veritas NetBackup, Veeam, Rubrik, Cohesity or similar), and what types of DR testing have you performed? • An example of an end-to-end incident you investigated (storage + OS + application) and how you prevented recurrence. • How have you used scripting or automation (Shell, PowerShell, Ansible or similar) to   standardise   and automate storage/backup operations? • Use of AI tools in daily life: describe how you have embedded AI into your workflows to improve efficiency and productivity.
