Description
Are you an energetic educator who loves sparking curiosity in children? RAFT is seeking a STEAM Camp Enrichment Teacher to bring our hands-on curriculum to life and create memorable learning experiences for campers. Working alongside staff counselors, you’ll deliver fun, interactive lessons that promote teamwork, creativity, and a love for learning. What You’ll Do • Deliver RAFT’s engaging STEAM curriculum, adapting activities as needed to maximize camper participation and excitement. • Lead a classroom of up to 24 campers and coordinate activities for larger groups (up to 200 students), ensuring a positive, collaborative, and well-managed environment. • Complete at least 9 hours of onboarding, professional development, and staff meetings before camp begins. • Keep classrooms clean, organized, and welcoming by modeling and encouraging good habits of tidiness. • Work with minimal supervision from the Site Director while maintaining high standards of quality and safety. • Participate in after-camp debrief sessions and surveys to share feedback and support continuous improvement. • Provide guidance and support to 1–2 staff members assisting with learning activities. Most shifts are scheduled in the afternoon (approximately 12:00–4:30 p.m.), though exact hours may vary by location. What We’re Looking For • Genuine interest in working with young children in a K–5 educational setting. • Availability to commit to at least one week, Monday through Friday. • Ability to quickly learn and facilitate new materials. • Creative, patient, and positive demeanor. • Strong multitasking, prioritization, and time management skills. • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. • Must obtain TB Risk Assessment and fingerprint clearance (covered by RAFT). • High school diploma required. • Preferred: Enrollment in an Early Childhood Education or teacher credential program. • At least one year of experience leading educational activities or managing student programs. Why Join RAFT's STEAM Camp? At RAFT, we believe in inspiring curiosity and creativity through hands-on STEAM learning. As a STEAM Enrichment Teacher, you’ll have the chance to shape young learners’ experiences, gain valuable teaching skills, and contribute to a mission-driven team dedicated to making education exciting and accessible.
