Description
Star English Academy is a well-established English language school founded in 1989 by James Kelly and Caroline Nixon, author of Kid’s Box and Power Up. With over 30 years of experience, Star English offers a stable and professional environment for teachers who want long-term development. The academy has two convenient locations in the Murcia region. One centre is in El Palmar, about eight kilometres from Murcia. El Palmar is home to the region’s main university teaching hospital, Hospital Virgen de la Arrixaca, and is well connected to the city centre by frequent buses. The centre sits near the foothills of the Sierra de Carrascoy Regional Park, offering a relaxed setting and easy access to nature. The coast is just a 30-minute drive away. The second centre is in Murcia city centre, with excellent transport links, including buses and nearby motorways. Star English has a strong, supportive academic team. In addition to the founders, we have ten other teachers and two experienced Heads of Studies: Lyndsay, who joined in 2007, and Miguel, who joined in 2009. Both provide academic support, guidance, and mentoring throughout the year. We pride ourselves on combining high professional standards with a friendly and close-knit staff culture. Many teachers choose to renew their contracts year after year, thanks to this supportive environment.
