Job Overview:
We are seeking a technically exceptional and visionary Engineering Manager to lead the scale-up and deployment of our proprietary Glycine Leaching Technology (GLT) and other gold processing innovations. Based in South Africa , this full-time role is central to translating laboratory and pilot-scale breakthroughs into full-scale, commercially viable operations. You will work closely with internal teams and external partners to ensure technical excellence, regulatory compliance, and successful project execution.
Key Accountabilities:
• Lead the scale-up of gold leaching technologies from lab to pilot and full-scale operations.
• Design and optimize metallurgical flowsheets tailored to various ore types.
• Manage relationships with labs, engineering firms, and equipment vendors.
• Oversee the development of process diagrams, equipment lists, and commissioning plans.
• Direct on-site commissioning, ramp-up, and performance tracking.
• Ensure compliance with environmental and safety regulations, including tailings and water management.
• Act as the key liaison between technical teams, project partners, and clients.
Knowledge & Experience Requirements:
• Education : Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Process Engineering.
• Experience : 15+ years in gold processing/metallurgy, including site-based roles and project delivery.
• Expertise : Proven experience scaling up at least two gold processing technologies (e.g., CIL/CIP, flotation, SART, BIOX/POX).
• Technical Depth : Strong foundation in comminution, flotation, carbon management, and reagent schemes.
• Safety & Compliance : Familiarity with HAZOP, LOPA, ICMI Cyanide Code, and GISTM/ICMM standards.
Technical Competencies:
• Process Engineering & Flowsheet Design : Expertise in integrating unit operations and scaling up processes.
• Metallurgical Expertise : Deep knowledge of cyanide and alternative lixiviants (e.g., glycine).
• Circuit Design : Proficiency in comminution and flotation circuit optimization.
• Commissioning & Operational Readiness : Experience leading commissioning and ramp-up activities.
• Process Safety : Strong command of safety methodologies and regulatory frameworks.
