Description
Aeva develops advanced 4D LiDAR sensing and perception technology for autonomous systems including vehicles and robots. This role involves designing and implementing real-time embedded software applications on microcontrollers and application processors, collaborating with hardware and systems teams to develop production-grade autonomous perception systems. What You'll Do • Design and implement real-time applications on application processors and microcontrollers using C/C++ • Participate in software development processes including requirements documentation, design specifications, test planning, and peer code reviews • Debug complex technical issues during product development and integration with hardware teams • Collaborate cross-functionally with electrical engineering, DSP, system test, and QA teams on product design and schematic reviews • Develop and optimize device drivers for embedded communication protocols and custom hardware interactions What You Need • 3+ years of professional experience developing C/C++ code in embedded systems environments • Demonstrated experience working with embedded Linux, QNX, FreeRTOS, or Zephyr RTOS • Experience developing drivers for SPI, I2C, UART, and other embedded communication protocols • Proficiency with ARM and Tensilica processor architectures • Strong understanding of operating system and RTOS fundamentals • Experience developing applications that interact with custom hardware on Linux or QNX systems Nice to Have • Experience with AUTOSAR middleware and automotive software development • Familiarity with network programming • Hands-on experience debugging with logic analyzers and oscilloscopes in lab environments • Personal projects building hobby embedded systems
