PetroBot Technologies is a robotic technology start-up located in Jaipur. Our flagship product is the PetroBot ITIS Rover, which is a remotely-operated robotic crawler that carries out on-stream inspection of hydrocarbon storage tanks. We also offer the MagRover, a remotely-operated wall-climbing robot for external inspection of industrial equipment. Our team of experts is dedicated to providing cutting-edge solutions that make inspection cost-effective, affordable, and efficient. Job Title Electronics & Electrical Engineer – Robotics (Oil & Gas Asset Integrity) Key Responsibilities • Robotic Development: Design, develop, and integrate electronic systems, sensors, and power systems into robotic crawlers and inspection platforms. • Electronics Troubleshooting: Perform diagnostics, circuit troubleshooting, and maintenance of existing inspection robots. • Field Deployment: Support field deployment, on-site commissioning, and operation of robotic NDT equipment at refineries, offshore platforms, and tank farms. • Sensor Calibration: Work closely with NDT technicians to calibrate ultrasonic, acoustic, and visual sensors to accurately detect flaws and corrosion. • Safety & Compliance: Ensure all electronic and electrical designs comply with hazardous environment safety standards (e.g., ATEX/PESO certifications). • Technical Documentation: Prepare test reports, schematic designs, and system performance logs for cross-functional review. Qualifications & Requirements • Education: B.Tech / B.E. in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field. • Experience: 1 to 5 years of hands-on experience in industrial automation, embedded systems, or oil & gas instrumentation. • Hardware & Programming: Proficiency in working with microcontrollers and development boards (e.g., Arduino, Raspberry Pi, STM32) and associated motor drivers. • Communication Protocols: Familiarity with industrial communication protocols such as CAN, Modbus, RS-485, and Ethernet. • Physical & Field Requirements: Must be comfortable working in industrial environments and supporting site inspections, which may require travel. • NDT Familiarity: Prior experience or willingness to learn NDT methodologies (e.g., Ultrasonic Testing) and industry codes is a strong plus).
