Blue Projects’ Project Delivery & Engineering team is looking for an Electrical, Automation and Instrumentation Site Engineer to join our team in Bucharest, Romania. We are seeking a highly motivated Electrical, Automation and Instrumentation Site Engineer to support on-site engineering and construction supervision activities across industrial projects. The role is based in Bucharest, Romania, with mandatory availability to travel daily to project sites located 70–100 km from Bucharest or to relocate to other cities for project purposes. Job Description • Monitor compliance and ensure all safety standards are met, including understanding of electrical, instrumentation, process control, and automation systems design standards. • Monitor the quality of work performed by contractors and ensure compliance with national, international, and client standards. • Register, track, and follow up on non-conformities and snag items identified during construction activities. • Develop or contribute to checklists for verification of electrical systems, control systems, instrumentation, and automation platforms. • Supervise construction activities and manage contractors on the project site. • Prepare and present regular reports on construction progress, milestones, risks, and coordination with other disciplines. • Conduct contractor meetings on site and document discussions through formal minutes of meetings. • Support installation contractor teams in resolving on-site construction issues through a hands-on, problem-solving approach. Qualification s • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation Engineering, or equivalent fields such as Control Systems or Mechatronics. • Minimum 3 years of experience in developing and commissioning process control applications. • Proven expertise in DCS and PLC architecture, configuration, and troubleshooting. • Solid understanding of instrumentation, analyzers, control valves, and system performance characteristics. • Experience working with PLCs, DCSs, HMIs, SCADA systems, SQL databases, and industrial communication protocols such as Modbus, OPC, Profibus, and Ethernet/IP. • Experience preparing software test plans, user requirement specifications, and functional design documents. • Advanced English language skills are mandatory. • Strong technical communication and reporting skills. • Knowledge of automation and PLC programming standards, including IEC 61131. • Basic understanding of Process Safety Management systems and high-hazard industrial processes. • Familiarity with integration between PLC systems and enterprise platforms such as ERP and MES systems. • Willingness to travel daily to project sites or relocate temporarily based on project requirements (mandatory).
