This person will be tasked with driving regulatory compliance, strengthening safety culture, and providing strategic leadership for environmental and security programs. The role offers the opportunity to lead a critical function, influence operational excellence, and partner closely with site leadership on long-term business objectives. This is an excellent opportunity for a seasoned EHSS leader looking to make a significant impact within a complex industrial environment.
The Role
• Lead all environmental, health, safety, security, and sustainability programs across two Louisiana terminal operations, ensuring compliance with company standards and applicable federal, state, and local regulations.
• Serve as the primary liaison with regulatory agencies, community stakeholders, and government authorities, while representing the organization during audits, inspections, and investigations.
• Manage environmental permitting, monitoring, reporting, waste management activities, incident investigations, and continuous improvement initiatives related to safety and environmental performance.
• Provide leadership for facility security programs, including serving as the Facility Security Officer (FSO), overseeing security personnel, and ensuring compliance with applicable security requirements.
• Develop departmental budgets, mentor and develop EHSS staff, support operations and maintenance teams, and lead emergency response efforts as required.
The Candidate
• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental, Health & Safety, Engineering, or a related technical discipline,
• 10+ years of progressive EHSS leadership experience in an industrial setting.
• Strong knowledge of environmental regulations, permitting, occupational safety programs, incident investigation methodologies, and regulatory compliance management.
• Demonstrated leadership experience with the ability to influence stakeholders, develop teams, manage budgets, and implement effective EHSS strategies across multiple functions.
• Professional certifications or industry-recognized EHSS credentials are preferred, along with experience in industrial, chemical, energy, terminal, or manufacturing environments.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to obtain or maintain TWIC credentials, with flexibility for occasional travel and emergency response availability outside of standard business hours.
