Description
Eskasoni Headstart Program We are seeking two Early Childhood Educators (ECE’s) to add to our Headstart team.  Our Early Childhood  Educators will be working from our new location with children aged 18 months to school age. Duties will include contributing to class activity programming, outings, routine classroom maintenance, tidying, cleaning in concordance with the NS COVID-19 publ ic health recommendations for childcare, ensuring all day-to-day licensing requirements are m aintained as well as our policies of best practice are followed. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a positive attitude, be a self-starter, self-motivated and re liable. We practice extending learning through play; you will need to think on your toes, be  able to create and extend learning opportunities as they arise and plan for future activities based on the interests observed in the classroom. The Headstart progr am supports learning and development needs of young children living in Eskasoni and focuses o n: •  Mi’kmaq Culture and Language •  Education •  Health Promotion •  Parental Family Involvement •  Nutrition •  Social Support Requirements: •  Completed Level 1-3 in concordance with NS classification services. •  Be aware and understand NS regulations for Early childhood ce ntres •  Criminal record check •  Child Abuse registry (in Nova Scotia) check •  CPR-C (Infant and child) •  A  license to practice (classification) is a legal requirement to work in a licensed childcare centre, family home day care agency or pre-primary program. •  Abi lity to speak Mi’kmaq Job Type:  Full-time, Monday to Friday ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS UNTIL FILLED: Please forward your resume and cover letter  to: Maxine Stevens, Human Resource Officer We thank all candidates for their interest, however, only those selected for an interview will be contacted.
