Title: Director of Domestic Violence & Supportive Housing Level: Director Department: Domestic Violence & Supportive Housing Reports to: Senior Director of Domestic Violence Services FLSA Status: Exempt Salary Range: $75,000-$80,000 Location: Fairfax, VA About Us: Shelter House was established in 1981 as a grassroots responder to the homelessness crisis in Fairfax County.  Since the organization’s inception, we have adapted and grown to meet community needs, all while working in partnership with government and private partners and community members. Today, Shelter House is a successful and reputable organization of over 200 employees committed to preventing and ending homelessness and domestic violence.  In the last year, our compassionate team of individuals changed the lives of nearly 2,000 individuals, half of which were children. Our Culture is built from our Core Values of Inclusivity, Collaboration, Accountability, Respect, and Empowerment (iC.A.R.E.)  About the Role: The Director is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Domestic Violence & Supportive Housing program to include: Department of Housing & Urban Development (HUD) Rapid Re-Housing projects (RRH) and the Domestic Violence Homeless Prevention project. The Director collaborates with the Assistant Director to oversee all areas of service delivery, program development, and implementation for Domestic Violence & Supportive Housing projects. In collaboration with the Senior Director of Domestic Violence and Supportive Housing for Domestic Violence Services, the Director will partner with Fairfax County’s Domestic and Sexual Violence Services (DSVS) and Fairfax County’s Office to Prevent and End Homelessness (OPEH) and community agencies to contribute to and promote a coordinated community response to serving victims of domestic and sexual violence. Working as part of Shelter House’s Leadership Team, the Director develops strategies to accomplish program goals in accordance with agency philosophy and values. How you will contribute Provide leadership, direction, and oversight for all components of service delivery for DVSH projects. Provide coaching and support to the Assistant Director through regularly scheduled one on one meetings and evaluations Collaborate with the Assistant Director to ensure the case management team implements a trauma-informed, client-driven approach in all facets of daily work Collaborate with the Assistant Director to foster a professional trauma-informed environment which supports team building, self-directed work teams, and a learning organization Support staff in making decisions regarding complex cases that demand higher level solutions; provide support as needed to address and resolve client grievances Oversee ongoing program evaluation, needs assessments, and client satisfaction activities Provide coaching and development support to direct reports through regularly scheduled one on one meetings and evaluations: coordinate training and development for all staff Coordinate and oversee office maintenance; manage contractors and vendors providing supplemental services to ensure the facility's compliance with all health and safety regulations Complete regular reviews of client files and VADATA reports, to ensure accuracy, compliance with the Violence Against Women Act, and adherence to agency standards and best practices Oversee the preparation of statistical and other reports to be used in community education, quality assurance activities and contractual agreements; manage the overall input and accuracy of data stored in Shelter House internal systems, the VA Data system, and VELA in a timely manner Develop new program initiatives in conjunction with the Senior Director of Domestic Violence and Supportive Housing and Shelter House Domestic Violence Services Leadership (Director of Artemis House Region 1 and Region 3) based on program outcomes
