Description
Northeast Community College is seeking instructors for Driver's Education. This position is responsible for preparing new student drivers for successful licensure through classroom and on-the-road instruction consistent with Nebraska DMV requirements and standards.  The driver's education instructor will prepare and deliver classroom instruction for students, plus 6 hours of behind-the-wheel driving lessons with each student. Duties include recordkeeping for tracking all aspects of each student's driver education training and related communications and reporting to students, parents, school administrators, and the Nebraska DMV, as well as keeping and maintaining a safe and clean learning environment. Requirements: Education:   High school diploma or GED required Experience: • Must have a valid operator's license held in state of residence for two consecutive years. • Must have a clean driving record. • For the prior five years, applicant must have no violations on record for which five or more points might be assessed. This includes probation or other situations in which no points were actually assessed for the violation. • Applicant must have no suspensions or revocations on record within the last five years, including no convictions for DWI or any related alcohol or drug offense in connection with motor vehicle use (DMV Title 247). Skills: • Applicant must obtain Nebraska Driver Safety Course instructor certification through the Department of Motor Vehicles or is willing to take a course for certification. • Applicant must have strong communication skills, both orally and in writing, as well as reliability and ability to be flexible.
