Role Overview Drilling and Production Engineers apply hands-on field and operations knowledge to evaluate AI-generated outputs and create expert training data that improve AI understanding of operations workflows, production engineering practices, and asset performance. Key Responsibilities • Review AI-generated content for technical accuracy and practical relevance to drilling, production, and plant operations. • Provide detailed, actionable feedback and corrections that help AI models better reflect real-world workflows and performance engineering practices. • Produce expert-level examples, annotations, and training materials based on the tools and processes you use day to day. • Document operational edge cases, failure modes, and constraints for use by AI research teams, working asynchronously. Qualifications • Minimum 2 years of professional experience in industrial operations, plant performance, or energy asset management. • Relevant roles include, but are not limited to, Plant Performance Engineer, Reliability Engineer, SCADA Engineer, Drilling/Production Engineer, or Generation Asset Analyst. • Hands-on experience with one or more of these systems: AVEVA PI, WinCC, Oracle MDM, Power BI, Bloomberg Terminal. • Strong written communication skills, high attention to detail, and the ability to work independently and asynchronously with AI research teams. • No prior AI experience required; subject-matter expertise and practical operational knowledge are the priority. Work Terms • Engagement type: hourly contract work, part-time and project-based; this is not a traditional full-time employment role. • Location: fully remote. • Schedule: flexible, asynchronous work with no minimum hour requirement; contributors typically work about 5 to 20 hours per week when participating in an active project. • Placement is driven by current project needs; being selected for one project does not guarantee immediate placement on future projects, but contributors may be considered for subsequent work as opportunities arise. Compensation • Pay rate: Up to $85/hr (depending on the project).
