We are recruiting a Repairs Surveyor to join a respected social housing group in Northampton on a temporary 3-month contract. As a Repairs Surveyor , you will be responsible for managing responsive repairs, carrying out property inspections, preparing specifications of work, and overseeing contractors to ensure repairs are completed to a high standard. You will also support the delivery of occasional disrepair cases, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and providing an excellent service to residents. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Repairs Surveyor with social housing experience looking for an immediate start within a supportive organisation. What’s on offer: • Temporary 3-month contract • Competitive hourly rate • Full-time position • Opportunity to work with a respected social housing group in Northampton • Immediate start available • Supportive and collaborative working environment Repairs Surveyor key responsibilities include: • Carrying out pre- and post-inspections of responsive repairs across the housing stock • Diagnosing building defects and preparing detailed specifications of work • Managing contractor performance to ensure works are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards • Handling occasional disrepair cases, carrying out inspections, and supporting the resolution process • Ensuring all works comply with health and safety legislation, housing standards, and organisational policies • Liaising with residents, contractors, and internal teams to provide excellent customer service • Monitoring repair quality and identifying opportunities for service improvement • Maintaining accurate records and producing reports where required The successful Repairs Surveyor will have: • Previous experience working within a social housing environment • Experience managing responsive repairs and carrying out property inspections • Exposure to occasional disrepair cases • Strong knowledge of building construction, repairs, and maintenance • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills • A relevant surveying or construction qualification is desirable • A full UK driving licence If you're a Repairs Surveyor looking for your next temporary opportunity within social housing and want to join a respected housing group in Northampton, this could be the perfect role for you.
