POSITION OVERVIEW
The Director of Tax serves as the organization’s chief tax leader, responsible for overseeing all aspects of tax compliance, tax accounting, strategic planning, and cross‑functional advisory support. This role ensures the company meets its global tax obligations while optimizing tax efficiency, supporting business growth, and maintaining a strong control environment.
The Director of Tax may be required to perform other job-related duties as requested by management. All duties will be assigned in accordance with applicable laws and company policies.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Tax Compliance (Income, Sales & Use, Property Tax)
Oversee timely and accurate preparation and filing of federal, state, and local income tax returns for both corporate and partnership entities
Oversee withholding tax compliance, manage preparation and filing of Forms 1042 and 1042-S, and ensure compliance with applicable Chapter 3 and FATCA requirements, including documentation (e.g., Forms W-8/W-9) and withholding determinations
Manage sales and use tax compliance, including registrations, filings, exemption certificate processes, and audit support
Manage property tax compliance, including renditions, assessments, appeals, and coordination with external advisors
Ensure compliance with evolving tax laws and regulations across all jurisdictions, and maintain standardized processes, controls, and documentation to support compliance and audit readiness
Tax Provision & Reporting
Lead the preparation and review of income tax provisions in accordance with ASC 740, ensure accurate accounting for current and deferred taxes, including valuation allowances and uncertain tax positions
Coordinate with accounting team to support financial close and reporting requirements
Review tax disclosures and footnotes for financial statements, and support external auditors by providing documentation and responding to inquiries related to tax provision
Oversee intercompany tax sharing and allocation methodologies, ensuring appropriate allocation of tax expense, benefits, and cash taxes across legal entities
Tax Strategy & Planning
Provide technical analysis, and develop and implement tax-efficient structures and strategies for M&A, project finance, and partnership
Monitor changes in tax legislation and assess potential impacts to the organization
Identify and maximize opportunities related to tax credits, incentives, and other tax attributes
