Description
Arc is seeking an exceptional Director of Strategic Communications and Marketing to lead the organisation's communications and marketing function at a pivotal moment in its development. Reporting to the Chief Executive and sitting at the leadership table, this role is responsible for Arc's brand, narrative, and external resonance — ensuring how Arc shows up in the world is coherent, compelling, and commensurate with its ambition. Critically, this role goes beyond communications: it requires a marketer's mindset, capable of building demand for ideas, shaping how concepts take hold across an ecosystem, and aligning Arc's narrative with the stories our partners and audiences are already telling. The Director will bring existing, or the capability to develop, fluency in the narratives shaping the climate finance and information infrastructure ecosystem — understanding the stories being told by key actors across the field, and deliberately anchoring Arc's positioning within those conversations rather than alongside them. Arc does not operate in isolation: our impact depends on shifting how the ecosystem thinks and acts, and this role is central to that ambition. You will lead the development and delivery of our external communications and marketing strategy, strengthening Arc's brand position, building demand for our ideas and products, and shaping a whole-of-ecosystem story in which Arc plays a leading role. What you'll own Arc's brand identity and narrative strategy - defining and stewarding how Arc communicates its mission, positioning, and impact. Ecosystem narrative intelligence — actively mapping the stories being told by leading institutions, funders, policymakers, and field shapers across climate finance and adjacent spaces, and ensuring Arc’s voice, products, and positioning are deliberately anchored to and differentiated within those broader narratives. External voice and thought leadership - ensuring Arc is visible and credible in the sectors we operate in including climate finance and data as well as philanthropy Strategic oversight of all content development including insights pieces, website and socials, and events materials. Concept marketing — building demand not just for Arc’s products but for the ideas and frameworks underpinning them, ensuring that the concepts Arc advances gain traction and legitimacy across the ecosystem; and go-to-market messaging that articulates our value propositions compellingly to each audience segment. Partnership and marketing strategy for Arc’s product suite (TransitionArc and ResilienceArc) — building awareness and driving engagement among financial institution users, corporates, and policymakers, including through account-based approaches that target specific high-value organisations with tailored messaging and coordinated outreach. Team leadership — setting clear direction while actively investing in the professional growth, capability, and wellbeing of each team member.
