Description
The Position   We are seeking a   Director, FP& A  to  serve as a strategic finance partner to our R&D organization .   In this highly visible role, you will support critical investment decisions across our development portfolio by delivering financial insights, forecasting, and decision support.   You’ll  work closely with  R &D   and finance leadership to translate scientific and clinical strategies into actionable financial plans, helping ensure resources are deployed effectively across programs.   T his  role   reports to  the Sr. Director of FP&A  and follows a hybrid scheduled of  two - to- three days per week in office .   The Impact  You’ll  Have   Strategic Partnership & Decision Support   Partner with R&D leadership and project teams to develop portfolio and program-level financial plans   Lead scenario modeling, cost-benefit analyses, and vendor investment decisions   Support clinical program investment decisions and other high-priority strategic initiatives   Financial Planning & Analysis   Deliver accurate and timely forecasts, budgets, and long-range plans for R&D functions   Prepare and present financial analyses to senior leadership, including materials for Board meetings   Provide variance analysis and actionable insights to inform decision-making   Cross-Functional Collaboration   Partner closely with Accounting to align budget vs actuals, including accruals, coding, and variance reporting   Collaborate with functional stakeholders to translate scientific and operational plans into financial outcomes   Process Improvement & Systems   Drive improvements in FP&A processes, reporting, and forecasting accuracy   Partner with the Head of FP&A to enhance and automate allocation methodologies across programs and indications   As a Director, we also expect our leaders to demonstrate the following Leadership Competencies: Communication and Influence   Builds communication channels across Maze for sharing information.  Influences Senior Management decisions through persuasive arguments.  Respectfully addresses differing opinions leading to support of decisions.  Teamwork and Collaboration   Champions partnerships and connections across Maze.  Proactively addresses issues that could result in breakdown of team relationships.  Spotlights team and individual contributions in public forums.  Execution and Results   Addresses gaps and leverages strengths to get best results.  Maintains a steadying presence and clarifies priorities during change.  Anticipates and removes barriers that put functional/corporate goals at risk.  Develop Others and Self  Remove barriers to staff development and empowers them to make their own decisions.  Stays current on industry trends and keeps direct-reports prepared and responsive.  What We’re Looking For Experience & Background   Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field; MBA or equivalent experience preferred.   10+ years  of experience in the pharmaceutical or biotech industry, including significant FP&A experience   Experience supporting R&D or development organizations strongly preferred   Clinical trial forecasting and accruals experience preferred   Technical & Analytical Skills   Advanced proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint   Experience with financial s
