We are partnering with a leading global renewable energy organisation and a major player within the offshore wind sector, with a significant international footprint across Europe, Asia, and other strategic markets. Alongside its core offshore wind focus, the business also maintains exposure to onshore wind, solar, and emerging clean energy technologies, and is actively expanding its international investment platform. As part of this continued global growth, the organisation is seeking to appoint a Director of Investments to lead strategic investment activity, corporate development, and commercial partnerships across offshore wind markets. The Role We are seeking a Director of Investments – Offshore Wind to lead investment strategy, transaction execution, and market expansion initiatives across international offshore wind markets. This is a senior leadership role requiring deep offshore wind expertise and strong experience in infrastructure investments, M&A, or corporate development within the renewable energy sector. The successful candidate will play a key role in shaping and executing the organisation’s investment strategy across Europe and other key global regions. The role requires an individual who can operate effectively in a highly international and cross-cultural environment, while engaging confidently with senior internal and external stakeholders across technical, commercial, and financial disciplines. Key Responsibilities Strategic Investment & Transaction Execution Lead and support strategic investment activity across offshore wind projects and related renewable infrastructure opportunities Identify, assess, structure, and execute investments, joint ventures, partnerships, and M&A transactions Coordinate end-to-end transaction processes with legal, technical, financial, and commercial teams Prepare and present investment papers, strategic recommendations, and board-level materials Financial & Commercial Analysis Conduct detailed financial, commercial, and strategic analysis to support investment decision-making Develop and review financial models to evaluate investment returns and project economics Support valuation, due diligence, and investment appraisal processes Ensure robust assessment of risk-return profiles across investment opportunities Market Strategy & Business Development Support long-term growth strategy within European offshore wind markets and other international regions Monitor offshore wind market trends, regulatory developments, and competitive dynamics Identify new market entry opportunities and strategic partnerships Support international expansion initiatives alongside senior leadership Stakeholder Engagement Build and maintain relationships with developers, utilities, investors, advisors, and industry stakeholders Work closely with senior leadership on corporate development and strategic initiatives Represent the organisation in external investment discussions and partnership negotiations Candidate Profile Proven experience within investments, M&A, corporate development, infrastructure advisory, or project finance within the renewable energy sector Strong offshore wind sector experience is essential Previous experience within a Big 4 advisory environment is highly preferred, particularly within Deals, Infrastructure Advisory, Transaction Services, or Corporate Finance teams Strong financial modelling, commercial analysis, and transaction execution capabilities Deep understanding of renewable energy investment markets, particularly across Europe Experience working within international or cross-border business environments Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and negotiation skills Comfortable operating within a fast-paced and evolving global organisation Essential Requirements Fluent business-level Mandarin and English (essential) Proven experience in investments, M&A, corporate development, infrastructure advisory, or project finance within renewable energy Strong offshore wind sector experience is essential Advanced financial modelling and commercial analysis capability Strong track record of transaction execution and investment appraisal Deep understanding of renewable energy investment markets, particularly in Europe Experience working in international or cross-border environments Degree qualified in Finance, Economics, Engineering, Business, or a related field Desirable Requirements Big 4 advisory background strongly preferred (Deals, Infrastructure Advisory, Transaction Services, or Corporate Finance) MBA, CFA, or equivalent professional qualification advantageous Experience working on large-scale infrastructure or energy transactions Personal Attributes Strong strategic thinking and commercial judgement High level of credibility with senior stakeholders and external partners Excellent communication, negotiation, and influencing skills Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, global organisation Proactive, self-driven approach with strong ownership of outcomes Comfortable managing complex, multi-stakeholder international environments Please note: you must already have the right to work in the country where this role is based to be considered for it.
