Description
Florida Realtors is the largest trade association in the state with nearly 200,000 members and the third-largest Realtor organization in the country. Members receive business contacts, networking opportunities, educational offerings, research and legislative representation, programs, services, and experience tremendous camaraderie. The association headquarters is located in Orlando, and the legislative Office of Public Policy is located in the heart of Tallahassee.
A Brief Overview
The Human Resources Director is directly responsible for the overall administration, coordination, and evaluation of the human resources function of the organization. This position will supervise and provide consultation to management on strategic staffing plans, compensation, benefits, training and development, budget, and employee relations.
What you will do
Compliance
· Develop and maintain human resources systems that meets organization’s personnel information needs.
· Maintain knowledge of industry trends and employment legislation and ensures organization’s compliance.
· Maintain responsibility for organization’s compliance with federal and state legislation pertaining to all personnel matters.
· Consult with legal counsel as appropriate, or as directed by the CEO, on personnel matters.
· Work directly with department managers to assist them in carrying out their responsibilities on personnel matters.
· Annually review and make recommendations to CEO for improvement of policies, procedures, and practices on personnel matters.
· Communicate changes in personnel policies and procedures and ensures proper compliance is followed.
· Ensure compliance with employment, benefits, insurance, safety, and other laws, regulations, and requirements.
Recruiting & Retention
· Establish and collaborate on the standard recruiting and hiring practices and procedures necessary to recruit and hire top talent.
· Represent the organization, in collaboration with the hiring manager, to prospective employees through the development of position/job descriptions, job postings and recruiting efforts.
· Develop and maintain an onboarding process for new team members.
· Develop thoughtful, integrated approaches to promote diversity and inclusion in talent attraction, development, and retention.
Benefits Administration
· Work with Broker through the annual renewal of insurance plans to analyze benefit plans for cost analysis and competitiveness. Analyze team member's premium deductions and organization's contributions to insurance premiums on an annual basis.
· Administer the plans on a daily basis by establishing when new team members are eligible to enroll and qualifying event opportunities; communicate changes to Broker or other external insurance partners.
· Administration of organization’s leave of absence policies. This includes educating team members about the process, working with team members to complete required paperwork and coordination of benefits with PTO.
Employee Relations
· Formulate and recommend Human Resources policies and objectives for the company with regard to employee relations.
· Partner with management to communicate Human Resources policies, procedures, programs, and laws. Reviews employee appeals through the company complaint procedure.
· Conduct investigations when employee complaints or concerns are brought forth.
· Determine and recommend employee relations practices necessary to establish a positive employer-employee relationship and promote a high level of employee morale and motivation.
Training & Development
· In collaboration with supervisors and department heads, recommend, evaluate, and participate in staff development for the organization.
· Manage all annual compliance trainings and ensure proper documentation of such events.
Compensation
· Analyze, establish, and maintain a competitive compensation structure.
· Assist executive management in the annual review, preparation and administration of organization’s wage and salary program.
· Work with supervisors to provide guidance on bonus levels for appropriate positions.
Performance Management & Improvement Systems
· Lead the implementation of the performance management system that includes performance development plans and employee development programs.
· Monitor and advise managers and supervisors in the progressive discipline system of the company. Monitors the implementation of a performance improvement process with non-performing employees.
· Review and guide management recommendations for employment terminations. • Coach business leaders on HR policies and processes, including talent planning, learning and development, and performance management to promote engagement and a culture of continuous growth and development.
· 7-10 years related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
· Must have strong working knowledge, experience, and ability to utilize Human Capital Management systems, Benefits Administration Systems, and/or HRIS systems such as payroll, time & attendance and HR systems required. High
· Ability to remain tactful, calm, and persuasive in controversial and/or confrontational situations. High
· Must be able to consistently exercise discretion and judgement. High
· Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, strong verbal and written communication skills, and problem-solving skills. High
· Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations. High
· High Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite. High
· Experience in employee relations, labor relations, and alternative dispute resolution methods preferred. Must be able to maintain confidentiality and discretion in sensitive matters. High
· Experience with administration of compensation and benefits is required. Medium
· Experience managing external partners/consultants is required. Low
· SHRM certification, SHRM-CP required
· SHRM certification, SHRM-SCP preferred
· HRCI certification, PHR or SPHR strongly preferred
· Valid Florida Driver's License
Incumbent will be able to WFH two days per week.
